How verification works
  1. 01The institute commits, not publishes

Each credential is hashed into a Merkle tree and only the tree's root is written to the blockchain. Personal data never touches the chain, the root reveals nothing about who is in the batch.

  2. 02The root is anchored publicly

That root is recorded in a smart contract on Polygon, timestamped and immutable. Neither the institute nor this platform can alter it afterwards.

  3. 03Your lookup recomputes the proof

We rebuild the credential's leaf hash from its own field values and walk the proof path back to the anchored root. Change one character on the certificate and the hashes stop matching.

Frequently asked questions
  • A verified result confirms that the credential's field values name, programme, year of award and identifiers, hash to a leaf that is included in a Merkle tree whose root is anchored on-chain against the institute's issuing wallet. It does not confirm the current enrolment, conduct, or employment status of the holder; it confirms only that the document was issued by the institute and has not been altered since issuance.

Report a discrepancy

If a lookup result does not match the physical or PDF certificate in your possession, or you suspect a credential has been altered, forged, or fraudulently presented, notify the Office of the Registrar before relying on it for any academic, employment, or verification decision.

This page provides an automated, cryptographic check of credentials issued by Indian Institute of Information Technology Suratand anchored on the Polygon network. A “verified” result confirms integrity against the institute’s recorded issuance data at the time of lookup; it is not, by itself, a substitute for an official attestation letter issued by the Office of the Registrar. The institute reserves the right to revoke, correct, or reissue any credential. Personal data submitted for verification is processed solely to perform the lookup and is handled in accordance with the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023.
